The journal collects this data from the person concerned. Where a corresponding author supplies the details of co-authors, those co-authors are informed by the corresponding author that their data has been submitted, and each of them confirms their own details before publication.
Optional communications — announcements, calls for papers and other notifications — are sent on the basis of consent, which can be withdrawn at any time. The data needed to operate peer review, to publish accepted articles and to keep the published record accurate is processed on the basis of the journal's legitimate interest in running a scholarly journal, and, for authors and reviewers, in performance of the arrangement under which a manuscript is submitted or a review is undertaken. Processing is carried out in accordance with the personal data legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
For published articles, the names, affiliations and ORCID identifiers of the authors are published as part of the article metadata, together with the e-mail address of the corresponding author. That metadata is distributed to Crossref when the DOI is registered and is available to any service that harvests the journal's metadata.
Authors should submit an institutional or professional e-mail address for this purpose, and should understand that publication and metadata distribution cannot be undone. After an article is published, the metadata can be corrected but not withdrawn.
The following are not disclosed:
The journal's website uses cookies that are necessary for login and session management. Aggregate usage statistics are collected in a form that does not identify individuals, and are used to understand how the journal's pages and articles are used. The journal does not use cookies for advertising or for profiling readers.
The journal does not sell or rent personal data, does not use it for advertising, and does not pass it to third parties for their own purposes. Data is shared only with the service providers required to operate the journal and to register DOIs, and only to the extent needed for that work. Those providers are bound to use the data for that purpose alone and not to disclose it further. Author metadata sent to Crossref for DOI registration is public metadata, as described above.
| Category | Retention period |
|---|---|
| User accounts | Kept while the account is in use; deleted at the request of the account holder |
| Editorial records — submissions, reviews, decisions and correspondence | At least ten years after the decision, so that questions about the integrity of a published article can be answered |
| Published article metadata | Kept permanently as part of the scholarly record (archiving and preservation) |
| Technical log data | Kept only as long as needed for security and fault diagnosis |
A person whose data the journal holds may:
Requests are sent to journal@qairu.edu.kz from the address held on the account, or with enough information for the journal to identify the record. The editorial office replies within thirty calendar days and states what it has done.
Deletion of an account does not remove the metadata of an article that has already been published, and does not remove editorial records that are kept for the integrity of the published record. Those records are retained for the periods stated above.
The journal's website links to external sites, including repositories, funder pages, ORCID and Crossref. Those sites are governed by their own privacy policies, and the journal is not responsible for how they process personal data.
