Call for Papers: Inaugural Issue
QAIRU Journal invites submissions for its inaugural issue and states the subject areas, article types, terms of publication, key dates and how to submit.
QAIRU Journal, published by Qazaq AI Research University in Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan, invites submissions for its inaugural issue. The journal publishes original research in artificial intelligence and adjacent computational fields, in English, four times a year. Publication is Diamond Open Access: authors pay nothing, readers pay nothing.
Subject areas
The journal accepts work in four areas. The example topics below show the kind of work that fits; they are illustrations, not a closed list. Read Aims and Scope before you prepare a manuscript.

What we accept
Word limits exclude the abstract, references, tables and figure captions. A request to exceed a limit must be made in the cover letter before submission.

Terms
- Language. English only, at every stage. Manuscripts must be in publication-quality English; the editors may return a manuscript for language editing before review. See Author Guidelines.
- Review. Double-blind, with at least two independent reviewers. First decision four to six weeks from submission. See Peer Review Process.
- Fees. None. No article processing charges, no submission fees, no page or colour charges. See Fees.
- Access. Diamond Open Access, with no embargo. See Open Access Policy.
- Licence. CC BY 4.0, with copyright retained by the authors. See Licensing and Copyright.
- Identifier. A DOI is assigned via Crossref upon publication.
- Ethics. The journal follows the COPE Code of Conduct and COPE Core Practices. See Publication Ethics.

How to submit
Prepare the manuscript according to Author Guidelines, then submit it through the online submission system. Manuscripts are not accepted by e-mail.
Submit an anonymised main manuscript, a separate title page carrying all identifying information, figures and tables, any supplementary material, and a cover letter that names the article type and the subject area. Every author needs an ORCID identifier. The required declarations — author contributions in CRediT roles, conflicts of interest, funding, generative AI use, data availability, and ethics approval where applicable — must be in the manuscript before the reference list at the moment of submission, not added later.
Proposals for review articles
The editors welcome proposals for review articles and ask that you discuss them before you write. Write to journal@qairu.edu.kz with a working title, the question the review will answer, the search strategy and inclusion criteria you intend to use, and an outline of the sections. You will have an answer before you commit the work.
Authors outside Kazakhstan
The journal is building an international author base, and submissions from outside Kazakhstan and from authors with no affiliation to the publisher are particularly welcome. All manuscripts are handled under the same procedure and judged by the same criteria, regardless of the country or institution of the authors. The journal will apply to DOAJ once it meets the eligibility requirements.
