Open Access Policy
QAIRU Journal publishes every article under Diamond Open Access: free to publish, free to read, CC BY 4.0, no embargo, with copyright retained by the authors.
QAIRU Journal is a Diamond Open Access journal. Authors pay nothing to publish and readers pay nothing to read. Qazaq AI Research University funds the journal in full. The itemised statement of charges is on /fees; every line in it reads "None".
Availability of published articles
Every article is freely available on the journal website from the moment of publication. There is no embargo period, no subscription, no registration requirement and no paywall at any stage. The journal does not restrict access by country, institution or IP range, and no part of an article — including supplementary files — sits behind a login.
What readers may do
All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0). The licence permits any reader to:
- read the article on the website and download it;
- copy, print and redistribute it in any medium or format;
- search it and link to it;
- carry out text and data mining, including automated processing at scale;
- adapt, translate and build upon it, including for commercial purposes.
The single condition is attribution: credit the original authors and the source, give a link to the licence, and indicate whether changes were made. The full terms, and what they mean for third-party material, are set out on /licensing-and-copyright.
Copyright
Authors retain copyright in their articles. Publication does not transfer copyright to the publisher. Authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right to publish and distribute the article, and remain free to reuse their own work — in teaching, in a thesis, in a later publication — without asking permission.
Formats and identifiers
Each article is published as a PDF and as a web version; both carry the version of record. Each article has a stable URL on the journal website and a DOI assigned via Crossref upon publication. Cite and link by DOI: that link continues to resolve if the website address changes.
Definitions the journal endorses
The journal endorses the definition of open access set out in the Budapest Open Access Initiative and in the Berlin Declaration on Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities: free availability on the public internet, permitting any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link to the full texts, and to use them for any lawful purpose, subject only to proper attribution.
Self-archiving
Authors may deposit any version of their work — the submitted manuscript, the accepted manuscript and the published version of record — in any repository, on an institutional or personal web page, and on a preprint server. Deposit is permitted at any time: before submission, during review, and immediately on publication. No embargo applies to any version.
Authors depositing a copy are asked to link to the version of record by its DOI and to state that the article is published under CC BY 4.0. This keeps the deposited copy connected to the citable record and to any later correction notice.
Funder and institutional mandates
Publication in this journal satisfies open access mandates that require immediate deposit, an open licence, or both. Articles are published under CC BY 4.0, with no embargo and no charge to the author or the author's institution. Authors who must supply evidence to a funder may cite this page, the licence statement printed on the article, and the article DOI.
Machine access to metadata
Metadata for all published articles — title, authors and their ORCID identifiers where supplied, affiliations, abstract, keywords, funding information, references and DOI — is openly available for harvesting and reuse, without charge and without registration. Metadata is deposited with Crossref upon publication.
Indexing
The journal will apply for inclusion in DOAJ once it meets the eligibility requirements. The journal makes no other claim about indexing.
Changes to this policy
Qazaq AI Research University is committed to keeping publication free of author charges. Any future change to the access model would be announced on this page in advance of taking effect, and would not be applied retroactively: articles already published remain openly available on the terms granted at the time of publication.
